TRANI CAPITALE DEL TANGO IL GOVERNATORE EMILIANO: “ARRIVERANNO DA TUTTO IL MONDO, È MERAVIGLIOSO”

TRANI, CAPITAL OF TANGO THE EMILIAN GOVERNOR: “THEY WILL COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, IT’S WONDERFUL”

It starts on July 8th with Pipi Piazzolla, on July 12th the show by Zotto and Guspero and from July 13th to 16th the festival starts with night milongas in front of the Cathedral and orchestras spread throughout the city

Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla , nephew of the great Astor Piazzolla, revolutionary genius of modern tango, will inaugurate the tenth edition of the Trani tango festival, which this year becomes International Trani Tango , organized by the Inmovimento association with the support of the Municipality of Trani and the Puglia Region.
The Argentine drummer, who arrives in Puglia this week thanks to the Radici Project, promoted by Enit Argentina and Pugliapromozione, will be the protagonist of a talk scheduled for Saturday 8 July , at 8 pm , in the municipal villa of Trani . It will be an opportunity to talk about grandfather Astor, one of the greatest exponents of music and culture worldwide. Astor Piazzolla was born 102 years ago in Mar della Plata and has Apulian origins, precisely from Trani, from where grandfather Pantaleone, a fisherman, left for Argentina in search of work.
Saturday will be a preview of the International Trani Tango, which will instead have a juicy appetizer on Tuesday 12 July , with the show “ Il Tango ”, which will be held in Piazza Duomo, the venue of the festival, and which will feature the artistic directors Miguel Angel Zotto and Daiana Guspero , among the most appreciated tango dancers in the world. That will be the start of the official countdown of the festival, which will be held from 13 to 16 July. And from that moment Trani will be a crossroads of sounds, emotions, meetings, talents, it will be the world capital of tango. In fact, people will come from all over the world to dance all night in front of the wonderful Cathedral of Trani. It is no coincidence that this year the event is among the major events recognized by the Puglia Region (co-financed by the European Union, Puglia Region and Pugliapromozione. PO Puglia FESR FSE 2014-2020 Axis VI Action 6.8).
“The Open Call Grandi Eventi”, underlines the President of the Puglia Region Michele Emiliano , “has allowed us to intercept large cultural, artistic and entertainment events that for years have played a fundamental role not only in terms of cultural offerings, but also as a contribution to increasing the visibility and attractiveness of Puglia. The Trani tango festival, which this year, rightly, has been renamed International Trani Tango, is a perfect example. An event that for ten years has brought prestige to our region, bringing to Trani, Puglia, thousands of tango enthusiasts from all over the world, this year even from Hawaii. And all this by valorizing a dance, tango, which yes, has its origins in Argentina, but which sees among its greatest expressions a musician of Puglian origins, the great Astor Piazzolla. We are truly happy to support the International Trani Tango. I thank Claudia Vernice, Giuseppe Ragno and all those who collaborate with them for the excellent work done and for the great opportunity given to Puglia, with an event that grows year after year and that perfectly represents the identikit of the great event, capable of combining culture, entertainment, tourism, visibility for our beauties. Ad maiora for this tenth edition”.
