DANIEL “PIPI” PIAZZOLLA IN TRANI TO KICK OFF THE TENTH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL TRANI TANGO

Saturday 8th July the talk at 8pm in the Villa Comunale of Trani

Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla will get to know the city that gave birth to his grandfather Astor Piazzolla , the undisputed genius of modern tango, grandson of Pantaleone, a fisherman who left Trani in search of fortune in South America until he stopped in Mar De Plata, the city where he decided to settle after his boat was wrecked.

The meeting (free admission) with the artist was organized by Aps InMovimento which, thanks to the Radici project promoted by Enit Argentina and Pugliapromozione, allowed the artist to come to Italy. Piazzolla will be a guest at the talk in which he will converse with Francesco Donato, in the gardens of the Villa Comunale in Trani starting at 8:00 p.m. Words, tango and roots to tell, to experience the emotions of tango in the city where it all began. “Astor created a universal music. Raised between Argentina and New York, he combined in his virtuosity a great passion for classical composition and admiration for tango” says Daniel, who adds “I am proud to be his grandson and very grateful for all the advice he gave me”. Pipi is a drummer, and the natural heir to the musical history of his grandfather Astor. In addition to telling a little more about himself, he will perform with the maestros Giacomo Desiante on the accordion, Gianfranco Menzella on the saxophone and Ilario De Marinis on the double bass. An exceptional guest of honor to kick off the tenth edition of the International Trani Tango, scheduled in Piazza Duomo from July 13 to 16, full of news and surprises.
